Skeptics with an Eh: A view of the Canadian Skeptical movementThe USA often attracts far more attention than its neighbour to the north but what is the state of religion, pseudoscience, and skepticism in Canada? In this talk, Canadian Ian Bushfield will discuss the history of the skeptical and humanist movements in Canada based on his involvement and research. Finally, he will touch on some current issues in Canada before opening the evening to discussion.
Ian Bushfield was the executive director of the British Columbia Humanist Association and founded the University of Alberta Atheists and Agnostics. He has a Masters in Physics and a certificate in nonprofit management. He is a dual citizen now living in Leeds.
